Medicine Distribution & Blood Grouping
One of the most serious health problems in Nepal is people in many villages do not test their blood types and its result can be fatal when they meet with serious injuries as they face problem in getting the transfusion of right blood type. In view of this alarming situation, Nepal Health Trust conducted a 2-day blood grouping and distribution of general medicine on Bhadra 26 and 27 of 2079 at Sitka Secondary School, Sunkhani which lies in Kalinchowk rural municipality of Kalinchowk disrtrict.
The school was running well with the good number of students studying from grade 1 to grade 10. Among the students, some belonged to the middle class and others belonged to the low class.
Nepal Health Trust, with the team comprising 8, started our program right from 11 am. We had one lab technician, one nurse, one assistant, three administrators. We tested the blood types of all the students from grade 1 to grade 10 and of all the teachers and of quite a good number of locals as well. Thankfully, we were able to render service to 200 people within 2 days. We hope to conduct more of these programs traveling to far-flung villages in the days to come.
