I am pleased to introduce Nepal Health Trust, an organization dedicated to addressing the severe deficiencies in healthcare services across Nepal, particularly in the most remote regions of the country. It is deeply disheartening to know that in certain areas of Nepal, individuals are losing their lives due to the unavailability of even basic medications like paracetamol. Despite the presence of medical facilities and qualified healthcare professionals, the marginalized communities in remote areas face neglect due to their economic constraints, rendering them unable to access essential medical treatment.
Furthermore, the challenging mountainous terrain makes it exceedingly difficult for them to reach hospitals in a timely manner. Compounding these issues is the prevalence of superstition and lack of health knowledge, leading to a sense of hopelessness and helplessness among the populace. The escalating maternal mortality rate further underscores the urgent need for intervention, evident from distressing headlines such as “Pregnant Women Die Daily in Nepal.” Additionally, preventable diseases such as diarrhea continue to claim the lives of numerous children in the remote Far-Western region, exacerbated by the absence of adequate ambulance services, causing premature deaths.
In light of these distressing realities, Nepal Health Trust has been steadfast in addressing the pressing healthcare needs of the afflicted through various initiatives, including health camps, provision of medical supplies, health awareness campaigns, blood donation drives, and an array of other essential healthcare services. We firmly believe that healthcare should be a primary concern for both government entities and private and non-governmental health sectors, extending beyond the capital city and major urban centers. It is imperative that we collectively mobilize our resources to save lives, one person at a time.
There is a saying, “The opposite of love is not hatred, but apathy.” It is this growing apathy towards the disadvantaged and underprivileged that motivates the mission of Nepal Health Trust — to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need of medical care. We extend an open invitation to all individuals to join hands with us in support of this noble cause, contributing in any way feasible. Thank you for visiting our website. May you be blessed abundantly!
Prakash's childhood was marked by hardship and struggle as a street kid, where he spent his days collecting garbage for a scrap dealer. His life took a pivotal turn when he was rescued by American Baptist missionary Martin Jonathan Collins, who placed him in a Children's Home, providing him with safety, support, and the opportunity for education. Collins, along with his wife and five children, were dedicated American missionaries from South Carolina who tragically perished in a plane crash on July 11, 1990, while en route to Nepal via Thai Airlines.
Prakash's transformation into a compassionate individual with a fervent dedication to helping the impoverished and vulnerable took many by surprise. In 2010, he established a Community Hospital with the primary mission of providing essential medical care to underprivileged individuals, particularly those residing in rural communities. His tireless efforts included organizing various health camps in remote Nepalese villages, bringing much-needed relief to countless individuals in need.Prakash has donated blood for 17 times in 8 years. He aims to donate blood every 6 months. He is a life-time member of Nepal Red Cross Society.
Join us in completing our campaign by making a donation today. With your support, we can reach even more people & make a greater impact.
