Empowering Recovery: A Tale Of Compassion And Commitment In Nepal’s Marginalised Villages
This elderly lady, who was suffering from bone cancer, belonged to a marginalized tribe in Nepal that struggles with poverty. Despite their dire circumstances, they rely on foraging in the jungle for food to survive. Due to her illness, she had lost all her hair and had become extremely frail, to the point where she was unable to walk and could only crawl backward.
Witnessing her plight was heart-wrenching, especially knowing that no one had offered her assistance. Determined to help, Nepal Health Trust arranged for a local porter to transport her to a road accessible by vehicles, and from there, she was taken to a hospital in Kathmandu. Thanks to the medical care she received over two months, she made a full recovery and is now able to walk and live a healthy life.
This experience solidified NHT’s commitment to serving those in need, particularly those in remote villages who lack access to essential medical care. NHT is dedicated to providing aid to impoverished and marginalized communities, and hope to make a difference in the lives of those who are suffering and underserved.
